For many of us, that place is found in the arms of loved ones. In the community of friends and family who surround us. In the traditions and beliefs that give us a sense of belonging.

But for some of us, that place is hard to find. We may be isolated from our loved ones. We may feel like we don't belong anywhere. We may be struggling to make ends meet or to overcome a personal challenge.

If you are one of those people, I hope that you will find shelter in these poems. I hope that they will remind you that you are not alone. That there are others who have faced similar challenges and have come out stronger. That there is always hope, even in the darkest of times.
